Who knew that as time go by
I would remember with clarity each lie
and admire myself for those above everything else
Good deeds were many
but the ones that feel the most proud of
were the lies and the transgressions
in the search of love
I had never imagined That I could lay my heart
out on the line to be broken
and live with this cracked centerpiece
on the mantle
And choose not to die but to survive
a loser all the way and a liar - but alive
That maybe I'll see a ripe old age
and a collection of family albums behind me
but those few dared moments on the stake of love
will have defined life's trajectory
That I built a home in the world
playd by many of it's rules, and broke a few
but the rules that I broke along the way
will lead to the the highest that this kite flew
I will probably be damned by every moral code
Except the one which says - follow your heart
The price of life is high, of love is even higher
I'm a pauper who played this game and lost
Slowly the island of the heat shrinks
within the boundaries of this home and hearth
